Smith Rayl Law Office, LLC has two offices:  one in Fishers, Indiana and one in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The Fishers office was opened by attorney Michael Ray Smith in 2008 after he retired early from his in-house counsel position at Eli Lilly and Company where he worked for more than 28 years.  The first half of his corporate career was as a chemical engineer in manufacturing and in research and development.  In 1989, Mike began his pursuit of a law degree while still working full time as an engineer.  In 1993, he moved to Lilly's law division, where he worked in the environmental law, securities, and commercial transactions groups.  Mike's practice areas include corporate and LLC law, business law, commercial transactions, business succession planning, estate planning, and tax exempt organizations.  A significant portion of his practice is devoted to the law of limited liability companies. Mike has also served as an adjunct professor at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, teaching a course in contract drafting and supervising an externship program in nonprofit organizations.
