Arkansas is the 25th state of the United States, admitted into the union in 1836. It is the 29th largest of all the 50 states in terms of area, and the 34th largest in terms of population. It ranks 4th in terms of the highest crime incidents - and has consistently been in the top five of the US’s most dangerous states. Notably, most of said incidents are concentrated in certain cities such as West Memphis, which tend to have higher population densities. The poverty rate is also very high in Arkansas (it is the 5th highest of all states) - which further worsens the problems.
